Studio City, CA

An evolving, trendy neighborhood attractive to low-key celebrities and small families.

Welcome to STUDIO CITY

In many ways, you'll find that Studio City is similar to Sherman Oaks—albeit a little trendier. Over the years, Studio City has attracted many entertainment industry professionals and celebrities who enjoy keeping a low-profile. It may not be as peaceful and reserved as its sister neighborhood, but that's because Studio City is always evolving and undergoing full remodeling and construction to make it better and better.

It’s still a more serene and relaxed neighborhood than Greater Los Angeles. Young families enjoy the area thanks to its access to restaurants while others flock to the natural hustle and bustle of Studio City. There is an infectious energy in the air thanks to its burgeoning reputation as a buzzy hotspot.

What to Love

People & Lifestyle

Studio City is home to many industry insiders and even A-list celebrities, many of whom find the intimate seclusion of Fryman Canyon alluring. Families and aspiring entertainment industry members might rub shoulders with famous faces as they stroll through the neighborhood’s immensely walkable downtown.

Overall, this residential community is surprisingly diverse and is considered to be a "hidden gem" by many. It's known for being a friendly area with essential amenities conveniently located nearby. Despite its considerable expansions and ongoing construction, Studio City has remained a peaceful place to live.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Sushi lovers have a variety of options to choose from in Studio City. You’ll need to visit the acclaimed “Sushi Row” on Ventura Boulevard. At Katsu-Ya, guests can dine on sushi prepared by one of Los Angeles's only master sushi chefs, while Iroha is perfect for traditionalists hoping to try something more creative.

Michelin-starred Asanebo is located in an unassuming strip mall but is surprisingly upscale inside, serving sushi along with traditional Japanese fare like grilled fish dishes.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so treat yourself at Aroma Coffee & Tea Company. The café's outdoor patio is the perfect spot to read a book and sip on hot tea or coffee. Looking for a place to grab drinks with friends? Laurel Tavern is an intimate gastropub serving craft beers and burgers. A famous late-night spot with craft cocktails and global small plates, Black Market Liquor Bar's intimate setting is perfect for catching up with friends.

If you're a fan of gourmet food, especially prepared items you can purchase and bring home, visit specialty shop Vintage Wine + Eats for classic café food and gourmet cheeses.

The best shopping can be found at the Canyon Plaza Shopping Center, a casual strip-mall touting numerous retailers and restaurants. Ventura is also close by and has some of the best shopping in all of California. Close to the beach, Downtown Ventura’s colorful storefronts and vibrant collection of quirky stores and trendy boutiques make it a paradise for shopaholics.

Things to Do

Movie buffs and television fans will love being so close to studios such as Universal, Warner Bros, and CBS. Warner Bros frequently offers studio tours to die-hard fans who’d love to see the sets that helped bring their favorite stories to life on the big and small screen.

Universal Studios in Hollywood functions as a theme park and an actual movie studio. Living in Studio City, you'll be close to the epic amusement park full of adventurous attractions, live entertainment, and the famous Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

While theme parks and movie studios are epic, there are plenty of low-key entertainment venues in Studio City, too. Pinz Bowling Center is the best bowling alley in town, offering a restaurant, a  bar, and 32 bowling lanes. It's open late and is great for family gatherings and parties!

If you're outdoorsy, there are plenty of spacious outdoor areas in Studio City and nearby. Beeman Park, Los Angeles River Walk, and Fryman Canyon are all exceptional places to stretch your legs, go for a jog or hike, and embrace the wilderness. Another option is Coldwater Canyon Park, located just over the hill in Beverly Hills close to Universal Studios.

Schools

Studio City is home to (or serviced by) several excellent schools.
